Stiffness and Strength equals Power and Performance
Fact is handle flex just above the grip is bad. When the handle flexes, the barrel can’t. That reduces your trampoline effect. A stiff handle produces more barrel flex, resulting in maximum trampoline effect and, ultimately, greater performance. The TPX H2 Hybrid is designed to be stiffer in the handle than the Exogrid.
Stiffer Handle and Trasition
TPX H2 uses a 100% composite handle and transition area. The move to a full graphite composite design in the mid section of the bat allows for an even stiffer handle than offered in Exogrid. Graphite is lighter and stronger than aluminum, allowing for a stiffer handle.
AC21 Scandium Alloy
AC21 Scandium alloy is new for 2011 and exclusive to TPX Louisville Slugger. This alloy is heat treated to change its molecular structure so it is not only stronger than before, it works better on hybrid bats (bats made using both alloy and composite) by adhering better to carbon fiber. TPX used 40 years of engineering experience to develop this revolutionary new Scandium alloy. TPX Exogrid 2 AC21 Scandium combined with composite ensures thinner walls, greater durability and better performance than ever before. A lighter handle and transition means a longer barrel and sweet spot.
