The minus 5 ounce length to weigh ratio is a transitional size usually used by 13 year olds as preparation for the step up to the high school play. The new line of Easton Power Brigade bats is designed with one thing in mind, help players hit better. The XL1 Minus 5 has a much larger sweet spot and barrel than the Easton Speed lineup of bats. The larger barrel means the Easton XL1 has a more end loaded feel. Pros: My son is a small 14 year old. This bat is well balanced and he is able to swing against the faster pitchers. We have had it for about a month now and it can't be all the way broken in yet and it has a whole lot of pop. A great travel ball bat and transition bat into highschool. We will go with the same bat in a -3 in a few months.

Pros: I just got this bat for Christmas and I haven't even broken it in yet and it is amazing I went from a s2-10 to the xl1-5 and it is just incredible how much better I am hitting with the heavier bat
