2014 Easton L3.0 Slowpitch Softball Bat ASA End Loaded SP14L3

The Easton L-Series slowpitch softball bats are built with the power hitter in mind. The L3.0 is a two-piece, fully composite softball bat approved for ASA play. Easton's IMX Composite barrel creates an enormous sweet spot while keeping their proven track record of high performance intact. The point of impact will feel as smooth as silk when you connect for that towering jack thanks to the SIC Black Carbon technology Easton uses in the handle. Composite material is spirally woven into the handle eliminating vibration at the point of contact, allowing you to have no concerns other than staying within the home run limit.

ASA - The L3.0 is approved for play in ASA and ISF. Since the recent ASA rule change, some say the new ASA standard is as hot or hotter than the current USSSA 1.20 BPF standard.

End Load - An end loaded slowpitch bat helps you have more power in your swing when the ball is struck. If you are powerful enough to swing an L series end loaded bat, you should stand to see an advantage over a balanced bat.

Two-Piece - The 2014 L3.0 Slowpitch Bat handle and barrel are joined together in the middle of the bat using the patented ConneXion rubber piece. The ConneXion will reduce vibration, and give the bat a more "whip" like feel.

12 Month Warranty - The One Year Warranty is back. 2014 Easton Slowpitch Bats will have a warranty against defects for 365 days from the date of purchase.

2014 Easton L3.0 Softball Bat Features:
  • Feel optimized by patented two-piece ConneXion Technology
  • IMX Composite barrel optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance
  • SIC Black Carbon handle improves feel and reduces vibration
  • 12" Barrel Length
  • End Loaded - 34/26(1oz), 34/27(2oz), 34/28(3oz)
  • Approved for Play in ASA Only
  • One Year Manufacturer's Warranty

  • Pros: Bat's very stiff out of the wrapper, but does still have some pop. Takes a little BP time to get it broken in. I have around 50 swings on it right now...still stiff, but more BP to come. I'll update my review once I've had enough time to get it broken in. Thanks Cheap Bats!
  • Cons: Small sweet spot out of the wrapper (As with most bats)

  • Pros: Unbelievable bat!!! The balance feel not only hits line drives all over the place but this bat has some serious pop to. My first few hits were line drives over the fence. About 200 hits so far and this bat is my #1 !! Base hit or homerun, no problem with this bat. Easton
  • Cons: Grip is to thin. Replaced with thicker leather grip. Good to go!

  • Pros: got the 26oz for our coed team and everyone is now using it after 1 week. I recommend the 26oz. because it is end loaded and it feel really good. We won this last Monday and about 2/3 of the team was using this bat. allows the girls to get a little more distance and let me hit gappers no problem.

  • Pros: I have about 200 swings on this with a mix of the .52/300 and .44/375 balls. For the first 50 swings it definitely felt like a log. After about 100, it started to open up a bit and currently hits the .44/375 a ton. The .52/300 still have a pillow like feel to them, but both the barrel sound and sweet spot continue to improve. I'd estimate 400 swings will have this thing spitting fire. The endload is quite noticeable. The price point of this bat at the end of 2014 in unbeatable. If your league is still using .44/375 balls, you should pick a few of these up before they're gone.
  • Cons: Very thin grip as others have mentioned. Needs some significant BP to open up as opposed to other ASA bats built to the new standard.

  • Pros: I have about 200 swings on this L3 with a mix of .52/300 and .44/375 balls. The first 50 cuts were quite stiff. Started really opening up after 100 swings. Hits the .44/375 balls a ton. No webbing, paint chips, or other signs of wear after 200 swings. The barrel still feels a little stiff with the .52/300 ball, but another 200 swings should fix that. The endload is quite noticeable. For the price point, this bat is phenomenal. If your league still uses .44/375 balls, I'd definitely recommend this L3.
  • Cons: As others have mentioned the stock grip is quite thin and feels cheap. Takes longer to get hot than other new spec ASA bats.

  • Pros: Bat is slightly stiff out of the wrapper. After about 50 cuts it starts to break in. I have only had one BP session with it so far but I can see great potential for this bat. This is differently a power hitters bat. I was hitting HR in the first 20 cuts.

  • Pros: What a great bat! Took some getting use to, switching from a one piece to a two piece bat. But the whip is largely noticeable. I've gone from a solid base hit batter, to bouncing balls off the fence at 310 ft. The bat seems to still be breaking in after 200+ hits.
  • Cons: Didn't know about the UPC sticker for the warranty. Was able to save it, but there is a ball mark on it from an inside pitch. Make sure and peel that off before you start using it.

  • Pros: Took it out of the wrapper two weeks, for some BP. The first few cuts were nothing out of the ordinary, but the more swings i took, the more it opened up. Went with the 27 oz. and the endload is perfect for my swing. First day, included about 100 hits and by the end of the day I was putting them over the 300 ft. sign in left field. Very nice bat. Looking forward to swinging this, in the upcoming season.
  • Cons: None, at the moment. Easton came thru with a good product, once again.

  • Pros: This is a seriously beautiful bat. Great construction, clean design- well worth the price. What a great value. Well balanced and perfect weight. It's my first experience swinging an end loaded bat, and the extra weight is surprisingly subtle. The SIC Carbon handle definitely reduces the shock on your hands. Of all the bats on our team, mine seems to be used most often.
  • Cons: Most reviews on this bat have it breaking in at around 30-40 hits. I've been a little let down that after a few sessions in the cage and 2 full games under its belt, it still feels a bit tight.

  • Pros: I really enjoy this bat, as does my whole team. This bat does take quite a while to open up and really show its full potential with the 52/300 balls but when it's ready this bat is HOT. The end load on it really gives this bat a little bit more power, even the girls on my co-Ed team are cranking it over the outfielders heads with this thing. I definitely recommend this to anybody looking for a high quality power hitting bat or an excellent price. From my experience I've noticed this bat competes very well with the Demarini Juggy but with a little stiffer feel and a much better price. Great investment.

  • Pros: Boutght a 34in 27oz. Hit nice right out of the box. Plenty of pop and a great feel. I was able to drive the ball where I wanted and the ball was jumping off the bat on most every hit. I do have to mention that the feel was soft even when driving the ball which I attribute to the two-piece design and also the ample sweet spot. I would expect a more solid feel with the one-piece sister version of this bat if that's what you're after but I can't speak to that. I was new to end loaded bats until this one and I don't know if I'll ever buy a softball bat again that's not end loaded. Because of the end load It has a heavier feel to it, but having said that, I feel that I still have the same bat speed and control through the hitting zone. I purchased the B3.0 as well, which is the same bat as the L3.0 except it's a balanced bat and it has a slightly longer barrel. I have not hit with the B3.0 but as far as swing feel goes, the B3.0 feels lighter and I don't feel I have as much control through the zone. This is purely a feel, I haven't hit the B3.0 so I can't say how they differ in ball flight. I'd recommend this bat to anyone that's got bat speed. I'm not a bomber but this bat can drive the ball well and barreling the ball up on the nice sized sweet spot is not a challenge. As an observation, some of the big hitters on my team used the L3.0 and cranked some of longest bombs they've ever hit. Previously these guys were hitting balanced bats. CheapBats.com was a pleasure to work with, they respond promptly to questions and have great information on their site and from their sales people. Got my bats for a great price and they arrived very quickly with free shipping. One bat had a mishap during shipping but the order was corrected immediately and my only disappointment was that I'd have to wait a few days before I could use the bat.
  • Cons: Not enough hitting to give any useful negatives. I guess if I was forced to find a couple of things right now: 1. As others have mentioned the grip is not great. If you swing an axe for a living or smash stone with your hands all day you'll be ok, otherwise the grip tape Easton has gone to will find a way to make a sore spot somewhere on your hand if you go without batting gloves. In other words it provides plenty of grip but it's abrasive, especially during continuous use like batting practice. Batting gloves are recommended or as others suggest putting on an aftermarket grip tape of your choice 2. Maybe some guys would want to swing a 29oz but I'm not up on my rules so maybe 29oz isn't legal, however, the end load kind of tricks you into thinking the bat is heavier.

  • Pros: Bought this bat in the 28oz and the end load on this bat is definitely for stronger hitters. This bat will launch the ball even with an easy swing. We had a player put one over the fence for his first time ever with this bat. The other teams are complaining about this bat already after two nights of games. Our league is using the .52/300 balls and still hitting the deep outfield on a regular basis. This bat haven't even been broken in yet with fewer than 100 hits on it so far. This bat should launch homers consistently once broken in.
  • Cons: Heavy for smaller players

  • Cons: grip was slightly smaller than other bats (which i read in other reviews)that didn't stop me from buying though. Put a grip on it over the other grip and now it feels amazing.

  • Pros: Nice bat for the money. Already had the Easton B3.0 (balanced) model & wanted an end loaded (L3.0)one & this fit the bill. Got the 26 oz. last years model for a good price. Some say the bat needs a break in period but bat had good pop out of the box. Maybe got a little farther distance than the b3.0 but not sure yet. Time will tell. Grip is nice.
  • Cons: Not much I don't like about this bat. Color could be nicer but the florescent Green makes it easy to find my bat among all the others.

  • Does this bat have a barrel compression threshold of 1450 psi or greater? (Under the current ASA rules, all bats that have a BCT of at least 1450 psi are legal.)
  • Asked by TJ
  • We could not tell you as the PSI's are not specified by Easton. This bat does have the current ASA approval stamp on it though.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Can this bat be used at the batting cages to break it in recognizing that the balls are the dimpled rubber balls?
  • Asked by Marv
  • Easton does NOT recommend using this bat inside of a batting cage and will void all warranties if deemed used in a batting cage as batting cage balls are denser than most softballs.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Im looking at this, vs the ASA Z-2000 from louisville slugger. how do these compare?
  • Asked by Dewitt
  • They are both 2-piece composite bats. The ASA Easton L3 is end-loaded, while the ASA Louisville Slugger Z2000s have a balanced and an end-loaded model to choose from. It's going to mostly come down to name brand preference as they are both high-end bats and will perform similarly.
  • Answered by Kris (Bat Expert)
  • Is this bat a single wall aluminum bat?
  • Asked by leo
  • The 2014 Easton L3.0 Slowpitch Softball Bat ASA End Loaded SP14L3 has an IMX Composite barrel, so it's not a single wall aluminum bat. If you like Easton and need a single wall aluminum barrel then maybe check out the 2015 Easton Salvo Scandium Slowpitch Softball Bat ASA USSSA End Loaded SP15SVS.
  • Answered by Kris (Bat Expert)
  • is this going to be their best model this yr for ASA. Also how will this bat perform compared to last yrs Helmer. I bought 2 and was disappointed and would really like a bat similar to the Easton stealths of old. Will this compare? how will it compare to the flipper/z3000/j4 etc?
  • Asked by chris
  • At this time it is difficult to say how this bat will perform as we do not have it in stock yet. Easton bats have a different feel from Louisville Sluggers and DeMarini bats. Performance wise they should be similar but feel wise they will all be different. The DeMarini bats will have a lot more flex compared to Easton.
