2014 Louisville Slugger Z3000 Softball Bat Slow Pitch - Balanced ASA SBZ314-AB

Completely new for 2014, the Louisville Slugger Z3000 slow pitch bat also gets a new camo paint job. With improved durability in all 2014 Louisville Slugger softball bats, you can rest assured the best bats on the softball field will continue to be Louisville Slugger.

The new T2 Technology in the transition of the barrel and the handle is made to strengthen the bond of the two. The Z-3000 softball bat benefits from this link due to an increase in trampoline effect in the barrel and dramatically decreased vibration when hitting the softball. The T2 connection piece is thicker, sturdier, and stronger.

The Z3000 softball bat has thinner, high-strength walls in the barrel that allow Louisville Slugger to use more layers of ultra strong graphite fibers, making the Z3000 barrel lighter, thinner, and stronger at the same time.

Just ask softball superstar and USSSA Offensive Player of The Year Tim Cocco and USSSA 1st Team All Conference Lee Powers what the best softball bat is. They both use Louisville Slugger slow pitch bats.

Balanced vs End Load -  A balanced softball bat is easier to swing, despite being the same weight as an end loaded bat. Balanced bats are used most commonly by line drive hitters, while End Loaded softball bats are used by power hitters. Swing weight is personal preference, and we sell both about equal.

ASA vs USSSA -  These are the two most popular softball associations in the United States. The difference is how fast the softball is allowed to come off the barrel of the bat. With recent rule changes in both ASA and USSSA, they are now very similar in performance. Be sure to check with your league director about which bat you need. Or call our friendly staff!

Balanced ASA Z3000 Softball Bat Features:

  • Pure 360 composite
  • TRU3 – 3-piece bat construction
  • S1iD technology
  • Balanced swing weight
  • 7/8" tapered handle
  • 12" barrel
  • ISF, ASA approved
  • 1 year manufacturer's warranty

  • Pros: AWESOME BAT!!! I own the Z-2000 and there is no comparison between them. This bat has great pop right out of the wrapper and the grip is much improved from last year’s model as well. The three piece construction has appeared to resolve the neck issue with the Z-2000. I play ASA and Senior League, it turns heads in both leagues.
  • Cons: A little pricey, but as they say you get what you pay for and it is worth it. Also the bat is white which shows dirt easier.

  • Pros: I love these bats I am not a power hitter mostly a place hitter and this bat has improved my place hitting dramatically, it has greet feel, great pop and I would recommend this bat to anyone looking to place the ball. I have swung other bats as well a lot of worth and easton and I would put this bat above those ones. It's all personal preference but I don't think you can go wrong with this bat
  • Cons: None as far as price I have paid the same amount for bats that haven't performed anywhere close to the same level as my z series bats

  • Pros: I pulled mine out of the wrapper last night at the feild before a double header, and absolutly hit seeds. This bat dose have a golf driver like sound, very odd for softball bats, that might lead you to think that bat is broke or dead..We play with the 300/52 ball in our league, and this bat feels solid, never felt the ball on impacts, I bought a 26 oz (personal pref.) The ball flies off this bat.
  • Cons: The OEM grip is nice, but I will proably re tape it. A little concerned with the durabilty from what I read, however with this bat being designed for the Mush Ball..it should be ok. time will tell

  • Pros: I am writing this review as a person who has never used a “good” bat before. I have always used cheap team bats. So I can only tell you how this bat works as a step up, not for someone who has a history of buying expensive bats. The first thing that stands out is that I started hitting the ball to the opposite field; I always pull. My spray chart is more up the middle and right center now. It really feels like my wrists can steer the bat instead of the bat leading my wrists. There is zero shock on the bat from the ball. I hit a ball right near the grip and I did not feel a thing. I have to get used to not feeling my mistakes. I don’t know how much power it adds, but it added a lot of control. I am very happy with my purchase.
  • Cons: People say that this bat can get very dirty looking since it is white. I have been able to keep it clean though.

  • Pros: Bat has a ton of pop right out of the wrapper and is still getting better even thou I don't think the bat is even fully broken in. Even when you don't hit the ball just right the ball seems to bounce off the bat as if the ball were bouncing of a trampoline.
  • Cons: The graphics arn't very durable and scratch of failry quickly compared to all my other bats. However, this means nothing knowing how well this bat performs.

  • Review by: Augmon
  • Pros: Great exit speed out of wrapper. Very balanced feel. Many complain of "sound" like it is a baseball bat...I would compare it to a driver in your golf bag. I personally like the sound. Big sweet spot. Good pop but not positive it broken in yet. I am more of a line drive/gap hitter that doesnt hit towering shots. When I compare this to a 2014 Easton L6 (yes it is end loaded) out of the wrapper there isnt a comparison. Out of wrapper the Z3000 WAY out preforms the L6. (only new bat out of wrapper to compare it to in last couple years)

  • Pros: Great feel and consistency. Ball comes off the bat well and creates hard line drives. Great weight distrubution and balance through the strike zone. I have only had the bat for less than 100 hits and it is by far the best bat I have owned.

  • Pros: Tough, hard hitting bat. Good for hitting it hard through the infield or for distance. Have used many different models of the Z 2000's and 3000's and they all hold up well to the abuse of being used by everyone in the lineup.

  • Pros: Man, this bat is great! First practice with it I was hitting them over the fence. I had experimented with a lot of different bats last season, some good, some not so good until I came across a Z3000. I knew I had found my bat. It's great for both power hitters and place hitters. I got the 28 oz. since I found that the lighter ones were just that--too light. Very happy with this bat!
  • Cons: I have yet to find anything I do not like about the balanced Z3000

The bat works well and we have gotten lots of hits off of it. It's not the best bat we have on the team, but still a great bat.
  • Cons: I can say that the ball doesn't pop off at it's peak out of the wrapper. It definitely is a bat that needs broken in before it reaches it's full potential.

  • Pros: Seems pretty solid, with a good, 6 - 8" sweet spot. Keep in mind, this is my first slow-pitch bat purchase, ever. First season playing softball. Come from a long baseball background. So the feel is a little different, have to get used to not reaching for balls, 'cause the last 2" of the barrel are as dead as the first 2". But it's every bit, if not better, than the Psychos and Freaks the rest of the team are sporting. Season starts tomorrow. Will update, if permitted, the in-game results.
  • Cons: Not too keen on the cracked sound/feel you get when you tap the end of the barrel to the ground, homeplate. Purely aesthetic, though, it seems. 'Cause it taps the ball out of the infield just fine.

  • Pros: The bat is awesome. I only have around 50 swings on it. I have already hit two out. It is performing better than expected. The price is what makes it that much better. In the last game i played everyone in the dugout wanted to use it after the first inning. Even the guys on the other team were talking about it. They were hesitant at first because of the sound it made, but after the next few line drives and a home run the sound didn't matter.
  • Cons: I have no cons about the bat. The sound it makes is a little different to get used to. Other than that it's an exceptional bat so far.

  • Pros: This bat is a good all around bat. First time I swung the bat, I hit a home run. It hits solid even when I don't hit the ball in the sweet spot of the bat. A seemingly minor part of the bat I enjoy is the grip; the grip on the bat isn't too smooth and also isn't too sticky. It's the perfect grip on a bat. I've even had a few girls hit with the bat and they have liked how it hits.
  • Cons: I have only used this bat in a couple of games therefore I don't have many cons yet. The only thing that is different about this bat is the way it sounds when it contacts the ball. It sounds more like a fast pitch bat but it still hits good.

  • Hi guys, is this bat a 1.20 bpf or something else?
  • Asked by Sodbuster
  • The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z3000 does not have a 1.20bpf stamp on it as it is an ASA approved bat and will have the ASA stamp rather than the 1.20 bpf USSSA thumb print stamp.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Will you get a z3000 balanced usssa bat. I would like to have a 34/27 balanced z3000 but the league I play in is usssa so this bat would be illegal.
  • Asked by Wendall Ropp
  • We will not be receiving any new inventory for the Z3000 bats as they are no longer manufactured by Louisville Slugger.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Do you do same day delivery if ordered in AM of the day
  • Asked by JB
  • We do not offer same day delivery. Any order placed before 2:00PM Pacific Standard Time will ship out the same day. Anything after 2:00PM PST will ship out the next business day. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday and any order placed over the weekend will ship on Monday.

  • Is this bat single or double wall. I can only use ASA single wall bats in my league.
  • Asked by Jason
  • The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z3000 Softball Bat is a multi-wall composite bat and does not meet the single wall standards. We would recommend the Easton Salvo Scandium SP15SVS, DeMarini Ultimate Weapon WTDXUWE-15, or the Anderson Flew Slowpitch Softball Bat, which are all single wall ASA approved bats. DeMarini does also make a multi-wall alloy bat named the FS7 WTDXSF7-15.

  • Why doesn't the weight option have 28 & 30 oz. Choices? I would prefer a 28oz.
  • Asked by slugger15
  • We no longer have those sizes available and will not be receiving anymore as the 2015 model has already been released.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • I just purchased one of these after about 40 swings or so i notice a slight rattle when shaking the bat. is this normal for the composite bats? nothing seems to be wrong with bat from what i can tell just curious why a new bat would sound this way?
  • Asked by Mike
  • Your bat does come with a one year manufacturer's warranty. To redeem your warranty you will need to contact Louisville Slugger's Warranty Department at 1-800-282-2287. The Z series bats do have a unique sound to them like broken glass, but should not have a rattle. That is a warranty issue.

  • I am going to be playing in USSSA tournaments. Is this bat USSSA certified?
  • Asked by Ryan O
  • The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z3000 Softball Bat Slow Pitch Balanced ASA SBZ314-AB is NOT USSSA approved. The Z3000 ASA Balanced bat is lacking the USSSA approval stamp and is not approved for USSSA play.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • My league uses a 40 .COR 375lb ball. Is this ball well suited for it? What other bats are suited well for that spec ball?
  • Asked by Derek
  • The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z3000 Softball Bat Slow Pitch Balanced ASA SBZ314-AB is made for the .52 core 300lb compression ball. All ASA bats are not made for the specs that you listed. If you are looking for a bat meant to use on the harder balls you would want a USSSA certified bat such as the SB314-UB or the new Z4000 SBZ416U-B (if you like balanced).
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Which bat is best suited for the 52 ball, the Z3000 or Z2000?
  • Asked by Frank
  • The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z2000 and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Z3000 certified by ASA are both made for the 52 core 300 lb compression softball. Any ASA bat made 2013 and on will be made for that style ball.
