  • Pros: Used right out of wrapper and, though it wasn't even broken in yet, had a lot of pop. Got it through the zone quick but it still had a little mid-load weighting to it that added some extra power upon impact. Definitely comparable to the Z2000 lineup. Plays soft and strong.
  • Cons: not ASA or ISF approved

  • Review by: JAKE
  • Pros: More endloaded than advertised but I love endloaded bats. Sweetspot is fairly easy to find and its a forgiving bat. Out of the wrapper it was ok - not hot but ok. After a good BP session hitting Classic M and .44/375s the bat opened up and was very impressive. Stiff bat but very nice feel when making contact. Distance was great and ball speed on liners was pretty scary. It is a durable bat so far and will be my exclusive gamer. Bought two then two more in case they become hard to find.
  • Cons: I preferred the grey endcap that TPS used on the 1st gen Z2K and Catalyst line. My only criticism is the dish endcap, not a huge fan of the looks.

  • Pros: It's a great bat! Feels really good and has a good sweet spot. Feels better than my z2000, tons of pop! I recommend this bat if you like balanced bats over end loaded. Bat is hot, takes about 150 hits to open up.
  • Cons: none at all

  • Pros: Hot out of the wrapper. Good pop with any ball. Hit a few 44-375 over 340' with less than 25 hits on the bat. One of the hottest bats for 2015.
  • Cons: not ASA approved

  • Review by: Ryan
  • Pros: Bat is legit, especially for the price you can find them at. I dont agree with the slight load this thing is beefy but swings with some serious force with all that mass. My team used on fresh out of the wrapper on a humid day using balls that were pretty dead. Bat was still dropping bombs. Then again stiff one pieces are great for those conditions. This bat has more end load than the Z4k and bachman. i tested it on a flat surface with sonic tips off the table first
  • Cons: under playing the end/midload in this bat. Might cause a little confusion. If you already swing enload stay at the same oz. if you swing balance normally go down an oz.

  • Pros: Looks nice
  • Cons: for the month i had it, it was a great bat! but then something on the inside broke. i could hear it when i hit until tonight when i felt it shake. i swang at a pitch and you could feel something on the inside shift. i thought nothing of it and gave it another swing. it was like i hit the ball with a pillow. it went nowhere and i felt the inside of the bat shift again. my guess is that the inner lining of the bat came unglued and now i have a $200 paperweight. 1 month in.... talk about the most defective bat i ever owned. worst quality ever. proper break in, not a team bat. ... worst part is i dont have my receipt so now im screwed. (thats my fault).

  • Pros: I never played softball ever, I weight 260LB and 6'1" tall, I did my research and decided to buy this bat, I was amazed how well this bat did. I wasn't even trying and the ball was getting to the fences. On the second day, I was already hitting a home run. No vibration on the handle's made cool pop noise, made me look like I was playing for years.
  • Cons: It's my first bat, so I don't really know what to compare it to.

  • which bat would you recommend for a slowpitch 20-40 mph tournament against john beer clincher balls, the z4000 or the sonic
  • Asked by Ben
  • Clincher balls are softer, so you want to have the hardest barrel material possible. Both the Z4000s and the Sonic slow-pitch bats have composite barrels and will have a similar performance using the clincher balls, though they will have a very different feel that you will either like or dislike (Z4000 is 3-piece with lots of flex and limited vibration while the Sonic is a traditional, stiff 1-piece). However, most of the time a hard aluminum barrel has the best performance when hitting a soft clincher ball.

  • Will this bat perform better or the same with 52 275 balls as the -4?
  • Asked by hitnlazers
  • The 2015 Louisville Slugger SONIC+ is a USSSA bat made for the harder balls. It will perform well but not as well as the ASA bats made for those softer balls.

  • will this bat come out to use in asa? and why is the vapor so cheap priced?
  • Asked by michael
  • No, atleast for 2015, the SONIC+ Slowpitch Softball Bat will only be available in this USSSA, NSA, ISA approved model. The Vapor Slowpitch Softball Bat is less expensive because it's a 1-piece Alloy bat, which are usually much cheaper than all composite bats (like the Sonic+).
  • Answered by Kris (Bat Expert)
  • If this bat has a slight mid load to it, is it still balance? Will this bat compete with the Z's and perform just as good as them? Last question, is this bat worth getting for 200 dollars, because I have never seen anyone use it in my league?
  • Asked by TRoy
  • The Sonic+ Slowpitch Softball Bat has a bit of a top heavy feel, though it's not full-on end loaded. It's kind of in the middle (hence mid-load). In a way, it offers the best of both worlds. Really good for players who usually go balanced but want some increased power OR really good for power hitters who want to increase their bat speed and/or improve their bat control. You haven't seen anyone use it because it's a pretty new bat, and yes, I'd say it's worth the $199.95.

  • Asked by Ya Boy
  • WE ARE THE WORLD!!!
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Will this bat be like a one piece version of the Z-2000? Will it have LS-2X composite?
  • Asked by BC39
  • Exactly, the Sonic+ is a 1-piece with a naturally more stiff feel version of the Z2000's. It's made with Pure 360 Composite, just like the Z2000's, which is the composite material Louisville Slugger has been going with as of late. However, the Z2000 lineup either has a balanced or end loaded version of both ASA and USSSA, while the Sonic+ just has this USSSA version with a mid-load swing weight.
