  • Pros: I won't say this bat is immediately hot out of the wrapper, but you can feel it begin to really open up only after a few swings, especially when it catch it flush in the sweet spot. Love the feel of the balance across the bat.
  • Cons: Haven't come across anything glaring yet, but I will say that the grip on the bat seems a bit cheap, as it is fraying only after 50+ swings. Might have to replace it.

  • Pros: The bat is NOT hot out of the wrapper. Very stiff bat. I got the bat within five days of ordering went out today to try it out and it's fallen flat for me. I'm more a of a homerun hitter and all I've gotten is line drives out of 50 swings. The drives are solid . The more I hit the more it seemed to open up , I'm hoping if I add another 50-100 swings it will open up to its full potential.
  • Cons: Very stiff. Grip is thin, will need to be replaced.

  • Pros: For the price this bat is great. Im not disappointed in it at all. I have about 100 swings on it and i feel its starting to open up. The unique sound of the LS is pretty sweet too. If your looking for a reliable bat without paying an arm and a leg this bat is for you.
  • Cons: Didn't care for the grip, but i usually replace all the grips on my bats with lizard skin so not a big deal.

  • Pros: Bat is hot out of the wrapper - our team hit 2 HRs the first night using it. Also like the tapered grip.
  • Cons: Only con is the look - not LS best color combo. Looks like a little league bat.

  • Pros: Today was the first day outside with the Z4 and this the first balanced bat I have used. The bat feels good and when the ball comes off of the bat it has good pop. I have been using the Z 3000 for several years and I am a Fan of the LS brand. I have used other brands in the past five years from Demarini to Miken but I have always come back to the LS. I have let other guys use it and they all like the feel and the power they have with it.
  • Cons: We now have six Z4s on our team and finding my bat takes some time

  • Pros: Today was the second day outside and more and more guys wanted to borrow my bat. So I figure it will get broken in faster. I got to watch the hitters using it and could evaluate the bat from more than one batter. They all agree the bat gave them more distance. They liked the finish and felt that is where the distance came from. These guys ranged from 60 to mid 70's. They were all shapes and sizes, and most of them were singles hitters, but a few of us are power hitters and we had the fielders on the fence when we got up. The bat went over so well that one of the guys asked me to order him one and another is thinking about it.
  • Cons: there will be another Z4 in the dugout to search through.

  • Pros: I received by Z4 in 4 days from CheapBats.com in a tight little package. This bat was hot almost right out of the wrapper, and really opened up for me about 50-75 hits in. It flies through the zone, and feels true to weight.
  • Cons: The grip is less-than ideal, but not the worst I've experienced.

  • Pros: I took the bat out tonight for first time. I was hitting off tee and started with my Easton synergy and hit good but when I hit with this bat I noticed a significant difference. This bat IS Hot out of the wrapper. The grip is not great but I love the taper of the handle. I hit one homerun over 310 rest were in a group just short of 300 not 30 feet away from each other. I like the ping on the contact and am actually thinking of buying a second one because when my team starts hitting with it it will break in too fast lol.
  • Cons: No cons as of yet. Maybe after I hit more than 20 balls on it.

  • Pros: I love the feel of this bat. The sandpaper like barrel helps grip the ball. Has plenty of pop right out of the wrapper, hit a hr first game with it. Hoping it only gets better with time.
  • Cons: It has a different sound on contact from bats I've used in the past, but it's no real issue. Just have to get used to it.

  • Pros: So far I have only had an opportunity to hit balls off a tee to start breaking this bat in. I don't notice anything exceptional about the pop or nothing that would make me call it "hot out of the wrapper." It's a solid bat and for $89 it's a reasonably priced bat even if I end up just using it for practice. I'm hoping it will open up and get some more pop the more we use it.
  • Cons: The grip is a bit spongy and i'll probably have to replace it after a full season of use. Other than that, no real complaints.

  • Pros: I am in love with this bat! One of my teammates recently purchased this bat and i just had to have it! I play on multiple teams and I have teammates that want to purchase it too! By the end of the season the whole team will have it, it seems 😂! I just received mine last week and I agree it is hot out of the plastic!

  • Pros: Bout the bat for my gf to use in coed league. Took almost 100 swings to open up. Doesn't hit as far as my z4000 balanced, but it's not a significant amount shorter for the almost $60 price gap. Still hit plenty to the fence.
  • Cons: Be patient it takes a few swings to get hot, but it's got good pop when it does. Too thin of a grip, needs more.

  • Pros: Solid line drive bat with a little pop. I wouldnt' expect too many 300 ft shots out of this, but you have complete control of directional hitting. Perfect for the over the infield hitters and finding gaps.
  • Cons: If you expect this to hit bombs like a demarini, this is not the bat for you.

  • Pros: One of the best sleeper bats on the market compared to the other big name models from the other manufacturers. The 2 piece construction prevents any type of vibration and makes it feel like a one piece bat. The bat has a lot of pop and only gets better with more usage. the grip is a love and hate feeling as it doesn't feel as good as the Lizard Skins or Easton grips but the added foam cushion at the butt of the bat under the grip is perfect for a more natural and comfortable feel and it can actually be used again when changing the grip. It holds compression well when tested every season even after hundreds of hits recorded. The grit on the barrel is a cool feature but really does not benefit when hitting the ball. The previous year's model is the same as the current year except a different colorway so the pricing is exceptionally worth the value.
  • Cons: Better grips

  • Please explain the difference between two piece and three piece Louisville slugger for ball response, bat feel, etc
  • Asked by Dan S
  • The 2 piece vs 3 piece bat comes down to feel. The performance of the 2 bats will be the same. The 3 piece states that it will have a stronger connection between the handle and barrel with less vibration from a 2 piece bat.
