A new category of bat called Junior Big Barrel Bats came about in recent. Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bats typically have 2 3/4" diameter barrels, and a length to weight ratio of minus 12 ounces. Usually between 25" and 28" in length, these bats will be used mostly in Coach Pitch Baseball Bat leagues by baseball players between 6 to 8 years of age. After Coach Pitch, most youth baseball players will step up to a Big Barrel Bat, or a standard Youth Bat with a 2 1/4" diameter barrel. If your youngster is not quite ready for a Junior Big Barrel Bat, check out our Tee Ball Bats section.
This is a specialty bat that should be used when the coach is pitching, or the ball is hit off a tee. Junior big barrel bats are designed to give your child the edge with design and weighting until they are ready to step up.
