CLOSEOUT 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat -11oz YB14MK

2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat

Introducing the Easton MAKO - THE FASTEST bat through the zone, with THE MOST barrel in the zone. The MAKO comes equipped with the new TCT Thermo Composite Technology which gives this baseball bat increased barrel length, a massive sweet spot, reduced MOI, and increased swing speed.

Easton has taken the composite bat building science to the next level of SPEED with the all new Youth Easton Mako bat. The new Mako is the most perfectly balanced youth bat Easton has ever produced. A newly designed, and difficult to manufacture composite technology has been used to build Easton's new Mako bats. Not only were they able to increase the swing speed for the Mako youth bat, Easton was able to increase the size of the sweet spot. This translates to you hitting the baseball farther than ever before. A bigger barrel and a quicker swing. The Easton Mako of the fastest baseball bat in the game.

  • Patented two-piece ConneXion™ technology maximizes energy transfer for optimized feel

Why It's A Best Seller:

Easton is using a new technology, the TCT composite, which gives the Mako a bigger sweet spot than their other composite bats. The barrel is bigger and longer than other bats, but is still balanced and easy to swing. This bat was the most popular model at the 2013 Little League World Series, and it received a ton of air time on TV.

  • Pros: I like that it has the long barrel but the new composite is really nice
  • Cons: I don't like the grip because like its not cushioned very well but that takes away the heaviness

  • Pros: The one thing that surprised me was the light weight feel of the bat, along with the large barrel size. Whatever Easton did to make this new composite for the bat, it really is the future of bats. My son is getting much better swings in, as well as better at bats all around, simply because of the way the youth Mako bat is balanced. The grip is thin, but still cushioned enough, he has never complained of any vibration from the bat. I am glad I made the investment in this bat because it has given my boy confidence at the plate. Baseball should be about having fun, and he is having more fun than ever.
  • Cons: The white on the grip gets dirty.

  • Pros: I bought this bat on 10/20/2013 for my 10 year son (70 lbs) who plays 11U Travel Baseball. He used this bat in tournament on October 26-27 and went 8 for 14 (.571 Batting Avg) with 3 doubles...even his outs were line drives. He has used Big Barrels in the past and this bat has definitely improved his bat speed. I recommend this bat to any player that are contact hitters that need a little more pop to hit it in the gaps and through the infield.
  • Cons: Pricey...but worth every penny!

  • Pros: Bought this bat for my child a few weeks ago (didn't think cheapbats really had the bat) received it in 2 days for my son's birthday. We took it out to batting practice the day he opened it and is getting probably 10 more feet with this bat and it is right out of the wrapper.
  • Cons: Season cannot come soon enough

  • Pros: Awesome bat, big barrel, feels light, great pop off the bat
  • Cons: Pricy, if you have the money, definitely get it. HOWEVER, if you are looking for a nearly just as good bat thats not as much money, the Easton XL1 has the same size barrel, and only a fraction of a second slower swing speed.

  • Pros: This bat has amazing pop. If you hit the ball on the sweet spot, It's gone. This bat produces smoking line drives and is the perfect weight for me. I have to say that the XL1 has better pop, but that is because there is more mass coming through the zone because it's one ounce heavier. The mako's ConneXion tech disperses the vibration wonderfully, and even on a cold day, the sting is minimal. The mako is easy to get through the zone because it is light like the S series, but powerful like the XL series. Overall: absolutely a 5-star bat
  • Cons: The only con about this bat at all is the price. I would reccomend that you get the blemished mako.

  • Pros: My son loves this bat. He prefers using it over his other bats and his teammates recognize it as a good bat and ask if they could use it, which also makes him feel good and builds his confidence. The bat arrived on time and in great condition. The balls really do pop off this bat (when I pitch to him). We are still waiting for the big hit in a game. We have only had two games so far (5 at bats). I would recommend this company and bat to others.

  • Pros: My son is eleven yrs old and plays little league. He's been playing baseball from Jr Minor to little league. He was doing great but had outgrown a couple sets of equipment. I decided to make the investment in the Easton Mako bat. He was doing pretty good before but now he has a more confident swing. He enjoys the grip and the light-weight nature of the bat. The ball has a better pop off the bat as well. The distinctive vibrant color of the bat puts the pitchers on alert, creating somewhat of an intimidation facot for some of the pitchers.
  • Cons: Not really a con, but most of the team wants to use the bat...so buy two!!

  • I don't see the 32/21 available for Pre Order, why is it missing?
  • Asked by Martin
  • Easton is having a difficult time making this bat in a 32"/21 ounce version. Our initial order in the 32" youth Mako has been delayed until the end of the year, possibly later. Until we have a solid date for arrival in the 32", we are not going to offer that particular size for Pre Order.

  • If I am not a predator, what am I? ;)
  • Asked by Jessie
  • Jessie, you are awesome! Check out the video above with Easton Pro, Bryan Kaye, and you'll find out what happens if you're not a predator using the new youth Mako.
  • Answered by Derek
  • Which 2014 bat has a bigger barrel the mako or xl1, and which has more pop?
  • Asked by stix
  • The XL1 and Mako youth bats have almost exactly the same size barrel. So the Mako advantage in the 2 1/4" diameter barrel youth bat is going to be the minus 11 ounce length to weight ratio instead of the minus 10 ounce length to weight ratio that the XL1 has. This means the Mako is lighter and more balanced.
  • Answered by Mike P. - Bat Expert
  • Does this bat need to be broken in or is it ready for play as soon as it arrives? Thank you.
  • Asked by roy
  • The 2014 MAKO Easton youth bat is hot out of the wrapper. With the rules now in place in Little League and USSSA regarding ball exit speed, breaking in a bat is much less of a factor now than it was a few years ago when it comes to performance. A composite bat will always break in a little bit, simply because the physical property of material will naturally wear down with use, however, the rule changes of the past few years mandate that the ball exit speed not be exceeded over the life of the bat. Prior to the recent rule changes, bats were tested only at the beginning of their life cycle.
  • Answered by Derek L. - Youth Bat Expert
  • Is the new, small barrel youth Easton Mako USSSA approved?
  • Asked by Peter
  • Yes, the new Youth Easton Mako Bat is approved for USSSA play and has the new thumb print stamp on the baseball bat.
