Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat
The BBCOR Marucci Black 2 Baseball Bat is here.
Marucci BBCOR bats provide Maximum Performance through Longer Barrels and Balanced Swing Weights. The Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Bat builds upon the success of the Maruicci Cat 5 with a new stiff composite handle. It is hard to imagine that Marucci could make a better BBCOR bat, and Marucci engineers had their work cut out for them. The composite handle allows for an even lighter feeling baseball bat that gave Marucci the ability to add 33% more sweet spot than the Cat 5. The new barrel on the Black Two allows for a more elastic barrel. More trampoline means the balls goes further. Another improvement comes in the form of an upgraded Harmonic Dampening System. The Black BBCOR has virtually no vibration at all. Legal for High School and College, the Black BBCOR has a minus 3 ounce length to weight ratio and comes with a 1 year warranty from Marucci.
Marucci Model: MCBB20 (Black 2 BBCOR)
Extended Barrel Length is 33% Larger Than Marucci Cat 5
Bigger Sweet Spot Than Previous Models
More Trampoline
Balanced Swing Weight Gives the Batter Increased Swing Speed and Bat Control (Note: Marucci advertises the Black 2 as balanced, but we feel the bat is slightly end loaded)
One Piece Design
Stiff Alloy Handle
Ultra-Responsive AZ3000 Aluminum Barrel (Same metal as Marucci Cat5 BBCOR)
2 5/8 Inch Barrel
Minus 3 ounce Length to Weight Ratio
Premuim Cushioned Grip contains Kevlar to help dampen sting
Pros: Really great bat, nice balanced feel, and insane pop. I would say it might feel a little end loaded if you aren't as strong so before you buy it make sure you're gonna be able to swing it just fine. But the half/half or hybrid kind of bat style is really taking BBCOR to the next level all I can say is keep them coming Marucci!

Pros: Marucci Black for the win! I'm glad to see this is a best seller on this site because the bbcor market has a lot of bad bats in it and this is one of the good ones. There is no vibration and the pop is out of control.

Pros: For an all aluminum bbcor this is actually a really great bat. It is a more end loaded than a typical balanced bat but overall I have no trouble swinging the black 2.

Pros: Pretty bat when it arrived. Awesome when my son was so excited to get the bat. Unfortunately, the pros end there.
Cons: Very end loaded bat. Extremely disappointed in how the bat swings. This bat is advertised as being balanced but it is so end loaded that my 13 year old son has been in a slump for over a month from how much this bat has thrown off his swing. I wish there was something I could do but the paint chips so easy it looks like he's had it for 6 months. I'm extremely disappointed but I can't afford to buy him another bat and I'm stuck with a bat he can't use. Help me out Marucci.

Pros: Pretty paint job
Cons: One of the most end loaded bats of all time. Heavy swing weight. Very small sweet spot. My son can consistently hit farther (by a lot) with the same size wood bat.

Pros: If you like very end loaded bats, you will love this bat.
Cons: Marucci marketing should be sued for saying this bat is balanced. This is the most end loaded bat we have ever used, period. Terrible swing weight.

Pros: My son loves this bat. It has great balance and good pop.
Cons: After a half dozen games the bat has a many paint chips. A three hundred dollar bat shouldn't have a cheap paint job. Not sure how much longer the bat will be black. A lot of silver is showing already. The chips are deep and might actually damage a good baseball. Hopefully it keeps it's good pop. We will see???

Pros: I was torn between the Marucci Cat 5 and the Black but I am so glad I went with the Black BBCOR. After finally getting a chance to use the Black on a baseball field with real baseballs, I could easily tell the difference between the Cat 5 and the Black. The Black is smoother and has less vibration and just feels better. The Cat 5 is good, but the Black is better.
