CLOSEOUT 2016 Easton Bomb Squad Brett Helmer Slowpitch Softball Bat ASA End Loaded SP16BHA

The CXN Zero barrel-to-handle piece works with the 29/32" SIC Black Carbon Composite Handle to maximize energy transfer for an optimized feel, while also eliminating vibration/sting from getting to your hands. The 1.2mm Hyperskin Bat Grip, an upgrade over last years gauze grip, has a nice tacky feel with the right amount of cushion. This Bomb Squad bat is made with an End-Loaded Swing Weight, which gives the barrel additional weight towards the end cap, giving you more power potential at the plate. • Pros: Great flex, hot bat! Took around 60-70 hits on it and then really started to open up. Great grip, I think Easton is finished with the gauze handle grip. Paint job is sick. $349 is pricy, but when you swing it you won't be thinkin of that.

  • Pros: Great looking bat that swings well and feels great. Hits well right on the sweet spot right out of the wrapper. Great deal, as it is still listed as $350 on Dick's Sporting Goods website!
  • Cons: Takes time to break in. Still needs about another 100-150 swings before it should really open up - probably about 250-300 swings to get it fully broken in.

  • Pros: Now let's be honest here, Easton series bats as of late have been a little "disappointing" I was extremely apprehensive purchasing this bat due to the production of some of the latest Easton products "my opinion ". Heard through the grapevine the bat has a great feel (similar to the Miken DC 41 and the Psycho ) if you like your bat weight distribution comparable, which I do! First rounds of BP , a little stiff (not sure how people say "hot out of the wrapper ") It's taken about 200-300 cuts both .52 / 300 and .44/ 375 comp balls and it's starting to come alive. Of course getting more pop and distance with the.44 / 375 balls, while still taking heed to "perhaps durability issues" no spidering or cracking as of yet. This bat has my vote for ASA. Don't want to be the average guy who claims to hit the ball 10,000 feet there first game, had one punch that went roughly 320-330 a couple days ago after break in period. Like it! Would recommend, especially for the price cheapbats.com has it for. Got my products promptly and that without hesitation. Hopefully you find this helpful, if you are patient and can swing an obnoxious end load it's a stick to consider
  • Cons: The judy punchers and shooters attempt to swing it and it's like the non perishable food isle at the grocery store "can o corn " or like a Paula Abdule song "straight up now tell me "

  • Pros: Awesome Bat! First hit with it was a home run at 315 foot field. I've only been playing softball for 3 years now and this is my first composite bat so i'm super impressed with its performance! I've used it for BP for about 3 times now and I've hit about 20 homers with it and it's not even broken in yet. I would highly recommend.
  • Cons: No cons really.

  • Pros: Love the balance and feel, I went with the heaviest option of 28.5 oz. I have only played one game and went 4 for 4 with a grand slam and did not break it in before the game. Only reason I did not give 5 stars was the HR was in the park and I'm hoping for more pop as it breaks in. Good connection with ball have not felt any tings when hitting off end or inside of barrel. Most of the team uses it and liked the bat as well which we also have good quality Demarini's and Miken's to choose from.
  • Cons: Still hoping for it to break in a little more and get more power, but I have only played one game so far so not much time to give a full review.

  • Pros: Looks great, has a nice feel. When you hit the sweet spot, it pops.
  • Cons: Bat seems to need 50-100 swings to warm up. Small sweet spot. Better hit it just right or you're popping up.

  • Pros: Very good bat. Wish the asa version came in black. Grip gets dirty quick. Has good pop and big sweet spot. Feel very little vibration unless you make contact towards last few inches of bat
  • Cons: Grip should come in a black so it doesn't look stained. Noise it makes almost sounds like a wood bat

  • Cons: I did replace the grip after a solid evening of bp tore up my hand. other than that i recommend it for the price.

  • Pros: Bat feels great. Feels balanced and easy to get around on the ball. Opened it and hit about 50 balls with it warming up before a game and a skinny 19 year old on our team hit a homerun with it on his first at bat. The whole team uses it and most of us are getting good, solid line drives. Some are hitting it to the fence. It's the first Easton softball bat I've used and I'm very impressed.
  • Cons: Nothing.

  • Pros: We have the 26.5 oz with the 1.5 oz end load. Second swing this bat saw put the ball over the right field fence! Feels great for both guys and girls on our co-ed team. Can't wait to see what it is capable of once it opens up!
  • Cons: Smaller sweet spot than my DeMarini but that's just an adjustment I'll have to get used to.

  • Pros: I've been playing for 20 some years now and used the OGextened and flex which in my opinion are the best asa bats made. Well this kind of has that feel , I have the L3 , L6 and B3 which took A LONG time to open up , the TCT is a nice touch ( I like the CNT better ) takes less time to open up. And glad they went to an extra .5 weight for max load. Have about 100 hits or so , can't wait for this to really open up. Oh I never like factory grips but the hyper skin isn't bad ( wish it was .5 rather than the 1.1 ) but also my opinion. Over all I love the way eastons feel , and the durability is great. Hope this help anyone interested in buying this bat ( plus a great price ! )
  • Cons: Non as of yet , seems solid and haven't heard anything about breaking.

  • Pros: Feels good, I was worried about this since I own a 2016 Bryson Baker balanced 26oz, and this was the 28.5oz end loaded. It took a few swings to get the different timing down. Making solid contact with this thing turned the first ball to mush (looked like avocado after they threw it back in lol), probably the ball not the bat but still a confidence booster lol. Definitely a distance bat, I wouldn't pick it up to try and base hit but im not a bigger guy either.

  • Pros: Had the bat for a week. Used an old softball, drilled a hole thru it and fed a rope thru it so i had something to hit and break it in a bit. Did that for about 5 days until game day. Sunday was a double header game day. I have a 13 man team, including subs (everyone shows up for the first game), and about 9 of the 13 used this bat for the 2 games. I personally was smoking line drives over second base and they were moving pretty good. I had one bomb that was definitely a HR that got called foul (I've never hit an HR before). I also had one deep sac fly. I dont have experience with enough bats to determine if its "Hot out of the wrapper", with that said, I was not disappointed with the production of a brand new bat that was barely broken in. We won our first game 30 -0, second game was 16 - 5. Im not crediting that all to the bat but the boys seemed to like it enough. I personally like an endload and the 3.5oz that comes with the 28.5oz I purchased seems pretty awesome. Cant really tell between the 3.5oz to the normal 1-1.5oz im use to but i can see the production. Happy with my purchase and hope this review helps you pull the trigger on a great bat. Looking forward to it opening up and sending some balls into orbit.
  • Cons: The White Grip. Im an avid 1.8 Lizard Grip user. This grip is a 1.2 Easton Grip. I like the finish on the grip and the taciness as well. I dont feel vibration either, the white just gets dirty fast. Looked like it had been thru Vietnam after a double header.

  • Pros: 26oz feels lighter even with the end load, swings like butter. Nice look, average pop, sounds cool.
  • Cons: I have 250+ swings and it still feels very stiff. I know Easton's normally take longer to break in so hopefully it will start to open up soon - definitely NOT hot out of the wrapper.

  • Do the flex series handle the higher compression balls as well as the .300?
  • Asked by Law
  • The ASA Bomb Squad Brett Helmer and the ASA Brett Helmer Flex are both manufactured to use the .52/300 balls. They can be used with the harder balls but will take more wear and tear.
