2016 Louisville Slugger PROVEN Fastpitch Softball Bat -13oz FPPR163

Louisville Slugger creates the one piece Proven fastpitch softball bat with a bottle bat design and a balanced swing weight to give hitters the ability to have a fast, controlled, effective swing through the zone. It's made with 100% composite material and layered with toughened epoxy resin for nothing but the best of performance and durability. The Proven also features the LS end cap that redirects energy back to the barrel for a significant trampoline effect while still limiting vibration to the hands so hitters can enjoy the comfortable synthetic grip on the 7/8" standard handle. Take this to the plate in any fastpitch softball league as it has the 1.20 BPF USSSA stamp inked right on the bat!

2016 Proven Fastpitch Softball Bat -13 Features:

  • 1-Piece Construction
  • 100% Composite
  • -13oz Length to Weight Ratio
  • 2 1/4" Barrel Diameter

  • Pros: Great value. Has the length without the overall weight, as is a nice bat for my middle school team. While not being the rocket launcher type of bat (and is not expected to be), it was a very noticeable upgrade over any of the aluminum bats that my kids already owned. Again, great value.
  • Cons: While the bat is only 20 ounces, my weaker players still had trouble keeping the barrel up because it is so end-loaded. Overall though, this was one of my better softball purchases of the season.

  • Pros: Cheap for a composite bat. My daughter (11 years old) has only hit with the bat during one batting practice, one team practice and one time with me pitching to her.
  • Cons: My daughter complained of it stinging her hands. I tried it, and I even had her 12 year old friend on her team try it and we both had similar results. Slight mishits and you certainly know it. Maybe after a few more batting sessions, she will dial in the sweet spot. But with the sting, she will not swing aggressively and after hitting it myself, I can't blame her. I had higher hopes with this bat.

  • Pros: Light bat. Made of composite so it takes some of the sting away from what you usually get with light bat.
  • Cons: Hasn't been broken in yet, so not sure about pop.

  • Pros: Great look for a 12yr old and plenty of pop to push those ground balls through the infield with ease. Heavy enough to use next year but enough drop for her to get a good fast, balanced swing.

  • Pros: Bought this for my 8 year old daughter who plays in 10u. Bought the 28" 15 oz bat. The bat is very lightweight. Really good price. She is hitting very well with this bat. This bat will be better for younger players or like my daughter she is smaller and very skinny. Overall I think it is a very good bat.

  • Pros: Love the bat. Bought for my 6 yr old daughter. She has been swing it well. Bout in 28 inch and she is able to get it around and through without any problem. Also for little girls the bat has character, which matters to them at that age.

  • when will the 28 be in stock?
  • Asked by Mo
  • We will not be receiving anymore of these bats as the 2018 model has now been released.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • How does this bat compare to 2015 Vendetta? Looking for a good composite bat for my 9 year old without going crazy on price.
  • Asked by Ed
  • Due to this bat being lighter than the Vendetta it will not have as much force behind each swing and will be using a lower grade composite compared to the Vendetta.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Is this bat balanced?
  • Asked by DT
  • This is a balanced bat.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Is this bat ASA approved?
  • Asked by Ap
  • The 2016 Louisville Slugger Proven is an ASA approved bat.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Do these bats come with an original receipt and warranty that is good for possible returns to the manufacturer?
  • Asked by papabee
  • All purchases made on our website come with a receipt from our company. You are emailed an order confirmation receipt via email when placing your order, and a hard copy is mailed with the package itself. The Proven does have a one year manufacturer's warranty on the bat incase of any defects while in use.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Simple question. Why so cheap?
  • Asked by Shelia
  • This is a lower end style composite compared to the Xeno Plus or the LXT Plus. The performance will not be as good as the LXT or the Xeno and as a result of it being a lower performing bat, the price is less.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Does the Proven require a break-in period? Can you get a 28 in?
  • Asked by Bill
  • The Proven is offered in 28 inches, but is currently back ordered with Louisville Slugger at this time. All composite bats do require a break in to a certain extent, but varies based on the balls used, the power of the hitter, bat speed, and environmental factors. Most break ins are anywhere from 60-150 hits.
  • Answered by Kevin (Customer Service)
  • Ok, can you tell me the difference between this bat and the other composite Sluggers like the Xeno and the XLT?
  • Asked by Gail
  • The Proven will use a lower end composite compared to the LXT, Xeno, and X12. The Proven will only come in a drop 13 weight differential bat, while the LXT and Xeno come in a -8, -9, -10, and -11 weight differential. The X12 will only be offered in a -12 weight differential. The LXT and Xeno will offer you the highest quality composite of the four bats and between the LXT and Xeno differ in the connection piece. The LXT, Xeno and X12 will be more expensive designed for a person on a competitive team or someone who plays more frequently while the Proven is a mid level bat.
