2018 DeMarini Flipper USA Slowpitch Softball Bat End Loaded ASA WTDXFLA-18

The Flipper USA slow pitch bat is made as a hybrid, combining a composite barrel with an alloy handle. The Advanced Performance Composite in the barrel gives you maximum compression and a rapid break-in, allowing this stick to be hot and game ready from day one! The ZnX Aluminum Alloy in the handle gives you a stiffer feel, while also forcing the barrel to deflect more for increased potency and better durability. • Pros: I got both the White (end load) and the Red Flipper (midload) and put about 200 swings on them today. They both were hot out of the wrapper, but got a hair better at about the 50 hit mark. ZERO VIBRATION: I come from a baseball background, and vibration an issue when I demo baseball bats, but less of an issue on slow pitch bats. Still, there is no sting or vibration on either 2018 Flipper ASA stick. The knob and grip: DeMarini knobs are my favorite. The shape is perfect, and doesn't rub or scrape the bottom of my hand after a lot of BP. Barrel: This is where the two Flippers differ. The white has a smaller, 12 inch barrel that is noticeably easier to flick around and control mid swing. The bigger barrel is nice, but I seemed to gravitate back to the white Flipper (this bat) because of its easy swingability. Overall, both great bats. I'm sure they'll both be popular, but the End Loaded bat will be a little more popular in my opinion than the midload/"balanced" version.

  • Pros: If you are not an uppercut , HR hitter then get the balanced version. It is taking some time to break in but it’s hot. Still like my Easton Ghost better but hoping that changes in another 100-200 swings.

  • Pros: Changed the grip to a lizard skin great feel to the bat especially being an end loaded bat. Bat is Solid gets better with break in great for power hitters and line drive hitters. Would not use it when its 60 degrees or lower saw another guys split when hitting before the game. it was like 50 degrees i think the balls were a little iced up and harder than usual. The Flippers are consistent top shelf bats especially in ASA
  • Cons: The grip it comes with stinks

  • Pros: I didn't find it as "hot out for the wrapper" as others have said. After hitting some bp however, it does feel strong with ball speed.
  • Cons: I don't know. I like it.

  • Pros: I've only played 4 games with this bat, but I'm 11 for 12 so far, with 3 walks; and the one out was a diving outfield catch. Doesn't feel broken in yet, as there are maybe 100 cuts on it, but the ball is coming off the bat with good pop. I'm hoping it'll still open up a little more and there'll be more drives to the fence or over. So far I and another teammate like this bat. Definitely worth the money.
  • Cons: Don't have any yet. Other ls have complained about the grip, but if you wear batting gloves and get a grip and rip, you don't even notice.

  • Pros: The bat looks and feels great. Installed a Red,White and Blue Lizard Skinz grip and improved the grip. I'm not a power hitter. The bat is pretty good out of the wrapper. Typical Demarini will require some break in time. It will open up most likely after about 75-100 hits. It's a great price for this bat. Other sites are not close.
  • Cons: I would prefer a little more pop out of the wrapper, but I'll sacrifice that for more durability.

  • Pros: If you like an endload this.bat is for you. At first I was not impressed with the bat, but I put 100 or so swings on it with a mix of 52/300s, Classic Ms and I even threw in a Dudley Stadium ZN. Once the sound changes from a ping to a crack this bat is lights out.
  • Cons: The grip is not for me. Athletic tape and pine tar did the trick.

  • Pros: 9/10, 12/12. If I do the math right, that’s 21/22. Nothing more to say about this beauty. Effortless hits. I love my DeMarini. The feel is pure. I believe bats are selective but definitely worth a try.
  • Cons: Not a real con, I changed to a 1.8 mm lizard grip and had the 21/22 hitting barrage with that set up. The bat was 26oz.

  • Pros: Dad playing Park&Rec softball league. Got the 34" 27 oz. Didn't expect much from an ASA bat but this Flipper has a great sweet spot, feels like butter and pops. Love the 12" barrel. Team mates are grateful. Happy with this purchase.
  • Cons: None yet.

  • What's the endload weight? Trying to determine the difference between this and the juggy.
  • Asked by Brandon
  • DeMarini does not specify the exact end load on this bat, but it is not significant. I'd say most likely it's a half ounce end load if I had to guess.
  • Answered by Kris (Bat Expert)
  • is this a single wall or multi-wall bat?
  • Asked by jb
  • Composite barrel bats are generally considered to be multi-wall, however, each league makes their own distinction, so it would be best to confirm with them prior to purchase.
