The -3 signifies the difference between the length and the weight of the bat. A 32" by 29oz. does have a differential of 3 and is considered a BBCOR -3 bat.

The 2015 and 2014 Mako are essentially the same bat. There should be no difference between the two, however, in our testing we have noticed less vibration in the 2015 Mako bats across the line.
