New for 2012 is the Louisville Slugger Exogrid 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat. The metal in the Exogrid 2 has been trimmed in a grid pattern, then replaced with carbon composite inserts that are several time stronger and lighter than the metal they replace, and at the heart of the Exogrid 2 Baseball Bat is the carbon sleeve, which provides greater handle stiffness than aluminum alone ever could with unidirectional fibers that run the full length of the handle. Using a combination of heat and extreme pressure, the sleeve,inserts and metal wall are bonded to function as a single, solid unit. In addition this BBCOR Bat is equipped with Louisville Slugger's Power Disc Technology - two independent Power Discs strategically placed in the barrel to allow for peak performance around the sweet spot, providing an oversized hitting surface and balanced swing weight. Precise positioning of the discs means you get not only a larger performing sweet spot, but a better feeling one as well.
