2027 Easton Ghost OG vs Ghost Advanced vs Ghost Unlimited: Which Ghost Is Right For You

2027 Easton Ghost OG vs Ghost Advanced vs Ghost Unlimited: Which Ghost Is Right For You

Easton runs three Ghost fastpitch bats in parallel: the Ghost OG, the Ghost Advanced, and the Ghost Unlimited. They share the Ghost name and the patented Double Barrel construction, but the build, feel, and price tell three different stories. Here's an updated, vendor-sourced breakdown for 2027.

Ghost OG — the proven, forgiving classic

The Ghost OG is the version of the Ghost that "brings back everything hitters loved about one of the most iconic bats in the game" — Easton's own framing. It runs the patented Double Barrel with Sonic Comp composite and the original ConneXion two-piece connection. The swing weight is balanced across every drop in the lineup, and the build is intentionally tuned for the feel and sound that made the original Ghost famous.

The OG is the most affordable Ghost at $449.99 MAP — shop the 2027 Ghost OG -10, the most popular pick. It's certified for USA Softball, USSSA (Fastpitch only), NSA, ISA, and WBSC — so it covers travel ball, high school (via USA Softball certification for NFHS rules), and the secondary sanctioning bodies. It is not NCAA-certified.

Best fit: Players who want the classic Ghost feel and sound, hitters newer to high-end composite bats, families looking for elite-level Ghost performance without stepping up to a $499.99 price point, and anyone who just wants a balanced, forgiving two-piece Ghost across every drop. Ghost Advanced — Easton's two-piece, balanced-or-loaded option

The Ghost Advanced shares the two-piece composite construction with the OG, but moves the platform forward in a couple of meaningful ways. The composite is Sonic Comp Max, which Easton calls "the highest-performing and most durable material" they've produced. The connection is ConneXion Evolution, an updated version of the OG's ConneXion tuned for "elite energy transfer and next-level forgiveness."

The Advanced also adds the Power Boost Soft Knob for bottom-hand comfort and vibration reduction on mishits, and uses a thinner 1.2mm Flow-Tack grip.

A key thing to know on swing weight: the Advanced is balanced in -10 and -11, but Easton ships the -8 and -9 in an end-loaded profile. So if you're stepping up to a -9 or -8 in the Advanced, expect a different feel than the same drop in the OG.

Best fit: Travel ball players who want a step up from the OG's feel and energy transfer, hitters who want the Soft Knob and the upgraded composite, and -10/-11 hitters who want a balanced swing with the latest two-piece Advanced tech.

Ghost Unlimited — one-piece, longest barrel, full college legal

The Ghost Unlimited is the structural outlier of the three. Where the OG and Advanced are two-piece, the Unlimited is a one-piece composite from knob to end cap. Instead of a physical two-piece connection, it uses VRS1 (Variable Response System 1), which Easton describes as a system that "dynamically adjusts handle stiffness based on your bat's size and weight distribution."

The barrel is the headline upgrade. Double Barrel EXT extends the barrel length about an inch — Easton calls it "the longest barrel in Ghost history" with an extended sweet spot. The composite is Sonic Comp Pro, Easton's "most advanced barrel material to date." Like the Advanced, the Unlimited ships balanced in -10/-11 and end-loaded in -8/-9, with the Power Boost Soft Knob.

The other big differentiator: the Unlimited's certification list explicitly adds NFHS and NCAA, so it's the only Ghost in the lineup that's college-legal. (More on one-piece vs two-piece feel.)

Best fit: High school and college fastpitch hitters, anyone who plays NCAA-sanctioned competition, hitters who want a one-piece feel with maximum barrel length, and players already comfortable on a high-performance bat who want the longest sweet spot Easton makes.

How to choose

If you're a rec or travel ball hitter who wants the iconic Ghost feel without the top-shelf price: Ghost OG.

If you're a travel ball hitter ready for a step-up in composite and connection tech, especially in a -10 or -11: Ghost Advanced.

If you're a high school or college hitter — particularly NCAA — who wants the longest barrel in the Ghost line and a one-piece feel: Ghost Unlimited.

If you just want the classic Ghost sound and a forgiving sweet spot at every drop: Ghost OG. Need help dialing in the drop? See our Ghost OG drop guide.

Bottom line

All three bats deliver the patented Double Barrel pop and the unmistakable Ghost sound. The OG is the proven, forgiving, value-priced classic. The Advanced is the upgraded two-piece for hitters who want the latest composite, connection, and knob tech. The Unlimited is the one-piece, longest-barrel, college-legal flagship.
