Rawlings makes the glove more big leaguers wear than any other, and this is the whole Rawlings wall in one place: Heart of the Hide in every pattern and web Rawlings cuts, Pro Preferred in kip leather above it, the carbon-backed REV1X, and the monthly Gold Glove Club limited releases. Below the pro lines sit the R9 and Select Pro Lite for players who want real leather without a month of break-in, and the NXT and Sandlot for a first serious glove.

For kids there are Sure Catch and Renegade gloves that close on day one from around $35, sized 9.5" to 11.5" with a smaller hand opening. Every glove is stocked in right hand throw and, wherever Rawlings makes one, left hand throw as a separate option on the listing.

Shop by position with catcher's mitts and first base mitts, or by size with the 11.5" infield and 12.5" outfield pages. Rawlings fastpitch gloves live on the Rawlings softball gloves page. Everything ships free from Anaheim, CA; order by 12pm PT and it goes out the same business day.

The Rawlings lines, top to bottom

Pro Preferred is the top of the line: kip leather, a sheepskin palm lining and Pittards sheepskin, in the same patterns as Heart of the Hide. Lighter, faster to break in, and about $100 more. Heart of the Hide is US steerhide from the top 5% of hides, the most popular pro glove in the game and the widest choice of patterns and webs we carry. REV1X pairs a Heart of the Hide steerhide palm with a synthetic back and 3D-printed lattice stabilizers, the lightest pro glove Rawlings makes. R9 is pre-oiled leather with an 80% factory break-in, the best value in a glove you can play a real season with. Select Pro Lite copies the pro patterns in a lighter, softer leather for players 12 to 15. Sure Catch, Renegade, NXT and Sandlot are youth and rec gloves that close out of the box.

Which one?

A high school or college player who fields every day should be in Heart of the Hide or Pro Preferred; the leather is stiffer but it holds a pocket for years. A 12- to 15-year-old who has outgrown a youth glove is the R9 or Select Pro Lite customer. Under 12, buy the glove that closes now, not the one to grow into.

Frequently asked questions

Is Heart of the Hide worth it over R9? If the player will use it more than two seasons, yes. The R9 is softer and cheaper but the leather relaxes over time; Heart of the Hide keeps its shape.

How long does a Heart of the Hide take to break in? Two to four weeks of catch. Glove conditioner on the pocket and laces helps; ovens and microwaves ruin the leather.

Do you stock left hand throw? Yes, wherever Rawlings makes one. It is a separate Hand option on the listing, and out-of-stock hands are greyed out.

Which Rawlings glove do the pros wear? Mostly Heart of the Hide and Pro Preferred in the 200, 205, 314, 315 and 3039 patterns, which is why those are the patterns we stock deepest.
